Description:
Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 (1976)
Delivered new in Germany

The Porsche 911 "Carrera 3.0" holds a special place in the history of the Porsche 911 as it combined elements from two of Porsche's most iconic cars. It represented the latest incarnation of the Porsche Carrera, originally launched in late 1972 as the classic 2.7 -litre RS was introduced into the 911 series and the Carrera 3's 2993 cc engine used the same die-cast aluminum crankcase as its faster cousin, the newly introduced Porsche 930 or '911 Turbo' with the short lightweight crankshaft.

This Porsche Carrera 3.0 has "matching numbers" as confirmed by the corresponding Porsche birth certificate.

The car was delivered new in Germany in 1976 and re-registered on 01/21/1977.
This beautiful 911 Carrera 3.0 is completely undamaged and in remarkable condition.

This Porsche has the classic white Porsche paintwork with the original Porsche 911 pinstripe seats as ordered for these 1976 and 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera models.

The white body color in combination with the black interior gives this vehicle a very distinctive, classic look.

The interior is in exceptionally perfect original condition. The car was professionally repainted once in the past to a high quality standard in the original white colour.

If you are looking for a beautiful and individual original Porsche 911 vehicle with high value retention as an investment, you should take a serious look at this Porsche 911 Carrera model.

Small series cars like this 911 Carrera 3.0 in perfect condition have proven to be a sound investment.

The car has a historic H registration. On request, the TÜV test will be recreated upon handover.

Story:
The 911 Carrera 3.0 was sold between 1976 and 1977 and was built between two other models in the 911 range: the standard 911 and the 911/930 Turbo.

During its very short two year lifespan a total of 3687 cars were built, a small amount compared to nearly 58,000 911 SC and 76,500 - 911 Carrera 3.2 produced.

Of these, 2,564 coupés and 1,123 vehicles in Targa format were produced.

In 1976, a total of 1093 Carrera 3.0 Coupés were produced. Among them were 487 RHD and 606 LHD vehicles

These vehicles were provided with the prestigious Porsche label "Carrera" on the side.

Carrera is a trademarked name (Spanish for "race") used exclusively by Porsche for some of its models to honor the company's success in the Carrera Panamericana.

The 911 Carrera 3.0 engine was essentially the naturally aspirated, higher compression 2994 cc engine from the 911 Turbo.

Built before the '911 SC', it has everything the Porsche 911 has and then some.

The car has a modified drive with more power of 200 hp;
more torque of 188 ft/lb at 4200 rpm and with approximately 10% weight reduction.

The car has the flywheel and crankshaft of the legendary 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS.

The 3.0 Carrera should be the basis for all future 911s developed up to 1989,
including the 911SC and the 3.2 Carrera.

The performance figures for the Carrera 3.0 are amazingly similar to the famous Carrera RS of the early 70's and it was the last time Porsche used the Carrera name until the mid 1980's.

Despite the reputation of being a slightly "tamed" version of the original 2.7 Carrera RS and 2.7 Carrera, the Carrera 3.0 has almost identical performance figures of 0-100 km/h and 0-180 m/h equipped with so much additional torque that it pulls up from 25 km/h to 160 km/h in top gear but over 3 seconds faster than all its series predecessors.

All in all we have a historical classic for you here,
which not only has its value retention but also a guaranteed increase in value in its genes.

The car can be viewed during business hours in Oberhausen.
